ABOUT

Rebecca Newman

Registered Psychotherapist, Clinical Counsellor, and Social Worker

I am passionate about helping people explore their inner world in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental space. A deeper sense of self-awareness and insight can support individuals to break free of self-defeating behavioural patterns, and step into newfound levels of self-responsibility. Life becomes enriched and purposeful through reconnecting and aligning with their core values and inner essence, and it is then that true healing can occur.

Everyone is the expert of their own lives, and it is up to all of us to walk the steps of our own journey. However, at times we need support to guide us along the way, especially through stormy waters. Finding a therapeutic relationship that can hold us steady during stressful periods or life crises, for personal development, or simply for our own evolution can be extremely beneficial.

Originally from the UK, I have lived an international life, studying, and working across the world including Los Angeles and Asia, before calling Australia home for the past two decades. As a therapist, I have worked in crisis mental health in several hospitals across Sydney and the Gold Coast for many years, specialising in mental health and addiction.

I love working in this clinical field and feel privileged to have seen many of my patients’ lives change in different directions. I understand how challenging mental health and addiction disorders can be, but also understand how they can be transformed. There is no greater joy for people when they rediscover who they truly are and are able to rebuild a life with meaning and purpose.

An accredited member of the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of Australia (PACFA) as a Psychotherapist and Clinical Counsellor, and the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) as a Social Worker. Currently working at Robina Private Hospital on the Gold Coast.
